Caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) is a highly alkaline and highly corrosive chemical. When using it, you must strictly follow the safety operating procedures, including wearing protective equipment, controlling the concentration and temperature of the solution, and avoiding mixing with other substances.
How to use
Preparing the solution
Caustic soda must be added to water slowly (not in reverse) and stirred continuously to avoid spattering caused by violent heat release.
Recommended dilution ratio: 1:20 for light oil stains (5 grams of caustic soda + 100 ml of water), no more than 1:15 for heavy oil stains, and only for metal surfaces.
Application scenario
Degreasing: After spraying the diluted solution, let it stand for 10 minutes, then clean it with a hard brush; metal kitchen utensils can be soaked.
Industrial use: as an acid neutralizer, saponifier, etc., professional equipment is required.
Precautions
Personal protection
Acid and alkali resistant gloves, goggles, long-sleeved clothing and aprons must be worn to avoid skin or eye contact.
Safety of operation
Use corrosion-resistant containers (such as glass or plastic), and do not use metal containers.
Maintain ventilation to avoid inhalation of vapor; immediately stop the leak and report it.
Emergency treatment
Skin contact: Immediately rinse with plenty of water for more than 15 minutes, and seek medical attention if serious.
Eye contact: Continue to rinse and seek medical attention urgently.
Storage and environmental protection
Store in a sealed dry place, away from children and acidic substances.
Waste liquid needs to be neutralized and treated, and cannot be discharged directly.
