Ferrous sulfate usage and precautions
The usage of ferrous sulfate should be selected according to the purpose (such as agricultural iron supplementation, flower maintenance or medical blood supplementation). The core precautions include safety protection, dosage control and avoidance of mixing with other substances.
Usage method
Agricultural/horticultural application
Spraying method: 0.1%-0.5% solution (1 gram to 1-5 liters of water) foliar spray, suitable for fruit trees, vegetables and other iron-deficient yellow leaves.
Root irrigation method: 0.2%-0.3% solution irrigates the soil, suitable for acid-loving plants such as azaleas and gardenias, once every 2-3 months.
Base fertilizer method: Mix with organic fertilizer (10-20 grams/pot) when repotting to adjust the soil pH.
Medical blood supplement
Oral administration requires warm water, 30 minutes after meals, avoid taking with tea or coffee.
Precautions
Safety protection
Wear gloves and goggles to avoid contact with skin or eyes; store in a cool and dry place.
Dosage control
Overdose may cause black spots on plants, soil acidification, or gastrointestinal discomfort in humans.
Incompatible combinations
Avoid mixing with alkaline substances (such as lime), oxidants, or calcium and magnesium fertilizers.
Special groups
Pregnant women, children, and those with allergies must follow a doctor’s advice; alkaline flowers are prohibited.
Prepare for immediate use
The solution is easily oxidized and becomes ineffective, so it is recommended to prepare and use it immediately.
